Noel was named to the post on February 3 after Ken Hitchcock was fired. He led the Jackets to a 10-8-6 mark but the franchise missed the playoffs for the eighth time in its nine-year history.
His fate, as well as those of assistants Gary Agnew, Gord Murphy and Barry Brennan was sealed when the club hired Scott Arniel as the new head coach on June 8.
Columbus ended the 2009-10 season with a 32-35-15 record, and finished last in the Central Division.

Terrell Owens could return for Cowboys next game
