12/19/2009 - New York, NY (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The seventh-ranked Duke Blue Devils will play for the third time this season in famed Madison Square Garden, as they take on the 15th-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs this afternoon in a top-25 non-conference clash, dubbed the Aeropostale Classic.
Mike Krzyzewski's Blue Devils captured the NIT Season Tip-Off title in the Big Apple at the end of November with wins over both Arizona State (64-53) and Connecticut (68-59). More recently, the team has strung together back-to-back victories at home, including a 113-68 dismantling of Gardner-Webb on Tuesday.
Mark Few's Bulldogs have won eight of their 10 games thus far, with the losses coming against the likes of Michigan State (75-71) and Wake Forest (77-75). The Zags also enter this matchup with a small two-game win streak in tow, routing Augustana (79-40), before winning a shootout with Davidson last weekend (103-91).
This is just the second time these teams have ever met one another on the hardwood. Duke won the only other matchup, a 61-54 decision in Madison Square Garden in 2006.
The Bulldogs erupted for a season-high 103 points last time out, earning a hard-fought victory over Davidson at Key Arena last weekend. The Wildcats delivered on 50.8 percent of their shots in the game, but the Bulldogs upped them in that category, connecting on a blistering 63.6 percent. Three of the five starters for Gonzaga posted over 20 points, led by Elias Harris' 27. Harris was 7-of-9 from the floor and 11-of-14 from the free-throw line. Center Robert Sacre poured in 23 points in the contest, followed closely by Demetri Goodson's 22. Steven Gray got into the act as well, adding 16 points to the cause. Gonzaga made good on 41-of-54 free-throw attempts. The 54 attempts set a school record. The offensive explosion was a bit surprising though, considering the team played without leading scorer Matt Bouldin (16.8 ppg), who missed the game with a head injury. Bouldin is listed as a probable starter, but may not be 100-percent. Gray (13.8 ppg), Harris (13.3 ppg) and Sacre (13.0 ppg) will need to once again elevate their games if Bouldin is not at full strength.
Senior guard Jon Scheyer was masterful in the rout of Gardner-Webb, as he connected on 11-of-13 shots from the floor, en route to a career-high 36 points. Seven of his 11 field goals came behind the arc, while he added eight rebounds and nine assists for a monster stat line. Freshman Andre Dawkins poured in 16 points, while Brian Zoubek and Miles Plumlee followed with 13 points apiece. Kyle Singler and Nolan Smith chipped in 11 points each to round out the double-digit scorers for Duke. The Blue Devils shot a scorching .652 from the field in the game, including an 11-of-19 effort from long range (.579). Duke has gotten the job done at both ends of the floor this season and the result is an impressive scoring margin of +23.1 ppg. Offensively, the Blue Devils are connecting on a solid 47.6 percent from the floor, leading to 85.4 ppg. The scoring depth is apparent with four double-digit threats thus far. Scheyer is both the team's top scorer (18.0 ppg) and distributor (51 assists). Singler (16.4 ppg, 6.8 rpg) is one of the ACC's best frontcourt players. Smith (16.3 ppg) has elevated his game and is now someone that can fill up the basket on a consistent basis as well. Dawkins (10.6 ppg) has been a nice addition and gives the team a boost coming off the bench.

Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament odds
As of February 9, MySportsbook.com has released its coveted 2007 Mens NCAA Basketball Tournament betting odds. “March Madness betting ” only a month away, the top ranked Florida Gators are favorite at 7-2 to win it all. The defending champs have not disappointed at all this season and currently have a 22-2 record and are undefeated (9-0) in SEC play. The Gators’ thrive off of their extremely balanced, experienced and versatile attack. All five starters started in last seasons National Championship game. What is most impressive with this group is their balance; the five starters all average between 10.7 and 13.6 PPG. The Gators have been on an absolute roll having won 15 straight by an average of 16.4 PPG.
Right behind the Gators are the 5th ranked UNC Tar Heels at 9-2. The Heels (21-3, 7-2) are absolutely loaded with top notch talent and are as deep as any team in the country. A concern for the Tar Heels might be inexperience. Of their top four scorers/ minute earners, three are freshmen and the other is a sophomore. The rest of the regular season, the Tar Heels play only one team that is currently ranked (Duke). Their remaining opponents do combine for an impressive 107-58 record though.
Other teams that the MySportsbook.com members seem to believe will win it all include the west coasts’ top team #2 UCLA (6-1), #3 OSU behind man-child Greg Oden (8-1), and #4 Wisconsin (10-1) behind their defense which has given up 70+ points only three times all season.
Below is a list of some of the favorites to win the 2007 Men’s NCAA Basketball Championship lines. For the full list of teams and March Madness odds be sure to log onto MySportsbook.com. Michael Vick is back, Brett Favre isn't and the NFC East remains the best division in the NFC, maybe in all of football.
As players start to gather for the start of another season, some things change and some stay the same in the world of the NFL.
The NFC East has been the dominant division in the National Conference for a while, despite limited playoff success, save for the New York Giants surprise Super Bowl win two seasons ago.
Hell, there's a generation of kids in Texas who have never seen the Cowboys win a playoff game (last win was in 1996).
But collectively, the Giants, Eagles, Cowboys and Redskins (well, maybe not so much the Redskins) are as good as a division gets in an NFC conference that has struggled to stay competitive with the AFC side.
Sports bettors have both acknowledged the NFC East's dominance, as one glance at the NFL future odds menu will show.
Looking over the NFL betting odds at online sports book MySportsbook.com we see the top three teams listed to win the NFC Championship are all from the NFC East:
Dallas Cowboys - 7 - 1
Philadelphia Eagles - 13 - 2
New York Giants - 9 - 2
Slotting in behind these three are two teams from the NFC North: the Minnesota Vikings (15-2) and the Chicago Bears (10-1).
Again, despite the lack of recent playoff success, the Dallas Cowboys are popular with the sports betting community, as they hold 14% of all the money wagered on who will win the NFC Championship.
So far, the New York Giants are the bettors' favorite to represent their conference in the Super Bowl, as they have 24% of the overall NFC Championship betting volume.
And what about the Philadelphia Eagles? For the most part, the Eagles had a very productive offseason, the kind that could bring them back to the top.
They had a good draft adding the likes of WR Jeremy Maclin and RB LeSean McCoy.
Unfortunately, the team received a blow when long-time defensive coordinator Jim Johnson passed away on Tuesday.
But this team will make a real run at the division title this year. Going into the regular season, Philly is listed at +240 to win the division.
Last season the Eagles were 9-6-1 SU and 10-6 ATS.
Teams from the NFC East will play teams from the AFC West in the regular season and the Eagles haven't really been a good bet in the last 20 games against the likes of San Diego, Oakland, K.C. and Denver, only going 8-12 ATS.
Two seasons removed from that Super Bowl title, the New York Giants see themselves listed as the odds-on favorite in NFC East championship futures at +162.
Plaxico Burress is gone and with him all the bad publicity surrounding the gun in the sweatpants incident, but can they replace him in the offense?
Last season the Giants were a very reliable bet going 12-4 ATS.
In the Giants' last 20 games against fellow teams from the NFC East; they are 13-7 ATS.
Dallas is listed at +240 to win the division.
Dallas went 9-7 SU and 7-9 ATS last season and with the amount of talent the Cowboys have, a similar performance won't do.
The Cowboys have been atrocious against divisional rivals, going 6-14 ATS in their last 20.
The Washington Redskins are longshots to win the division at +550.
