02/19/2010 - Dubai, United Arab Emirates (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Venus Williams will have a chance to win a second straight Dubai Tennis Championships title on Saturday when she faces tough Belarusian Victoria Azarenka in the final.
The third-seeded former world No. 1 Williams notched a 6-1, 6-4 victory over Israeli Shahar Peer on Friday, while a fourth-seeded Azarenka handled seventh- seeded Pole Agnieszka Radwanska 6-3, 6-4 in Friday's semifinals at Dubai Tennis Stadium.
Williams dominated the first set against Peer, winning 27 of the 38 points played. After racing to a 4-0 lead, the seven-time major titlist had her serve broken. The world No. 5 American star won the next two games, however, to finish the set in a mere 23 minutes.
The two traded service breaks early in the second set, but Williams broke again in the seventh game for a 4-3 lead and held serve from there to win it.
"I am definitely pleased to be in the final," Williams said.
Azarenka, meanwhile, doused Radwanska in 1 hour, 20 minutes with the help of five service breaks in order to reach her eighth career final.
Williams is seeking her 42nd title on the WTA Tour, while the world No. 6 Azarenka is in search of her fourth. Both players have yet to title this season.
The 29-year-old Williams is 1-0 lifetime against the 20-year-old Azarenka, with the victory coming in straight sets two years ago at the Summer Games in Beijing.
The winner of this $2 million event will take home $350,000.

New York, NY – October 3, 2007 – The dress rehearsal is over! The NHL preseason has ended and now that fans have had a glimpse of what is to come it is time to hit the book! Stanley Cup odds are live at MySportsbook.com, the world’s largest online sportsbook and casino.
The Ottawa Senators and Detroit Red Wings remain on top of the odds charts after an impressive start in the preseason. Betting lines opened for both teams at 6-1 in June. Since then the Sens have fallen to 7-1 and the Red Wings are now caught in a pack including the defending champion Carolina Hurricanes, the San Jose Sharks and the Anaheim Ducks, all at 10-1.
MySportsbook.com has also posted props on each team’s point total for the regular season. The Senators lead the charge at 108.5 followed by the Ducks at 106.5. Detroit will attempt a repeat for the prize as the Red Wings are deadlocked with the Predators at 104.5 a piece. The temporary loss of highly touted rookie Evgeni Malkin puts a lot of pressure on the stick of assistant captain Sidney Crosby - his lowly Pittsburgh Penguins are listed at 71.5.
Even if bettors are not brave enough to put their money on the underdog, an early bet on the favorites at sportsbook.com tends to produce bigger payouts than a mid-season wager. Placing a $1,000 bet last summer on the Detroit Red Wings or Ottawa Senators would have paid out to $8,000 and $10,000 respectively, opposed to a $2,500 or $3,000 payout at the beginning of the playoffs.
