Marion Bartoli topped Russian Olga Poutchkova in last year's final. The eighth-seeded Poutchkova plays Marina Erakovic of New Zealand on Tuesday.

American Lindsay Davenport takes on seventh-seeded German Angelique Kerber Tuesday night.

The top seed is Czech Nicole Vaidisova, who has been plagued with injuries and an illness the second half of this season.
