Yankees activate Betemit from DL

05/26/2008 - Baltimore, MD (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - The New York Yankees activated infielder Wilson Betemit from the 15-day disabled list on Monday.

Betemit, who suffered a strained right hamstring on May 10 versus Detroit, is hitting .269 with one home run and three RBI in 10 games this season.

He also missed 17 games with corneal conjunctivitis earlier this year.

In a related move, the Yankees optioned infielder Alberto Gonzalez to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Gonzalez was batting .214 with one RBI in 21 games.
