Report: Texas turns down Pac-10 invite

06/14/2010 - Dallas, TX (Sportsbook Betting Lines) - Texas has reportedly turned down an invitation to join the Pac-10, apparently allowing the Big 12 to stay a 10-team league.

Pac-10 commissioner Larry Scott told The Dallas Morning News on Monday that Texas president Bill Powers informed the Pac-10 that Texas will stay with the Big 12.

The news comes days after it was reported that Texas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma and Oklahoma State would leave the Big 12 for the Pac-10. Colorado has already left the Big 12 for the Pac-10, while the Big Ten has accepted Nebraska's application to join the conference.
